February 12, 2024
We are thrilled to share the updated details for this years Wednesday Night Bassin’ tournament series, including a exciting increase in the payouts. Below are the comprehensive rules, guidelines, and information to ensure a competitive and rewarding experience for all participating teams.
*Denny Nelson will be running the blast off & weigh ins! He will not be involved in any other tournament coordination- any questions about the tournament should be directed at tournament director Michael Hengel. ( Contact info here: https://dennyssuper30.com/contact-michael-hengel/ )
- Team Participation: Limited to 25 teams.
- Entry Fee: $50 per tournament, totaling $400 for the entire year.
- Fish Limit: Each team is allowed a 4 fish limit per tournament.
- Invitation Process: Initial invites will be sent to teams that were enrolled in last year’s Wednesday Night Bassin Team of the Year. Following the invite period, we will open a general entry period for any remaining spots.
- *General registration will open Monday February 19th at 1:00 PM.
- Payment Requirement: Teams are required to pay the full annual entry fee upfront.
- Cancellation Policy: If you need to miss a tournament, please notify us at least 1 week in advance. This allows us time to fill your spot. If we successfully fill your spot, your $50 entry fee for that tournament will be refunded.
- Team of the Year Competition: Every team is automatically enrolled. The competition will consider your best 6 finishes out of the 8 total tournaments.
- Boat Blast Off Order: The order will be randomized for each tournament and then reversed for the next, ensuring an equal average blast off position for all teams by year-end.
- 100% Payout: We’ve doubled the payout from previous years! 100% of all entry fees will be returned to the anglers.

Rules:
1. Tournament Guidelines | • Participants under 16? They’ll need accompanying guardians. • A heads-up: Denny’s Super 30 occasionally exercises its discretion on participation. This might, on rare occasions, involve a polygraph test. • Decisions made by our tournament officials are final and binding. • Have concerns? Kindly send a text to our director at (612) 961-1680 prior to weigh-in. |
2. Safety Protocols | • Safety first! Always wear your USCG-approved life vest when the boat’s engine is running. • On Lake Minnetonka, let’s adhere to a 40-mph speed limit. • Life vests should be worn whenever the engine is operational. • A reminder: equip your boat with a kill switch, ensure your running lights are in order, and always have a fire extinguisher and first-aid kit on board. |
3. Bass Regulations | • Only Large & Smallmouth Bass (season restrictions apply) are legal. • The team limit stands at 6 bass. • Bass that appear tampered with will not be eligible for weigh-in. • In the event of a tie: we’ll first consider the number of bass, followed by the weight of the largest fish. If still tied, the prize pot will be shared. |
4. Courtesy & Timing | • For a harmonious experience, maintain a minimum distance of 100 yards between boats. This includes when fishing ‘behind’ another team. Please remain aware of this. • Unsportsmanlike conduct could result in penalties or disqualification. • Unfortunately, teams late for weigh-in will not be eligible for scoring. |
5. Equipment Standards | • Artificial lures only. Trolling, and live bait are not permitted. • Keep your rods under 8 ½ feet for fair play. • Interested in sight fishing? Great! Just ensure the fish is hooked inside the mouth. |
6. Communication Policies | • Please reserve cell phones primarily for emergencies. • Communication between competitors requires prior approval from our director. |
7. Off-Limits | • Off limits fishing begins at 3pm the day of the tournament and runs until tournament start time. |
8. Substitutions | • Subs will be allowed, as long as your team’s original boater OR partner is fishing in each tournament. A completely new team (different boater and partner) will not be allowed to fish in another teams place. |
8. Additional Rules | • A reminder to avoid alcoholic beverages while participating. • Not adhering to our guidelines may lead to disqualification. • Please release your fish into deep water after weigh-in. No fish released at the weigh in site. • When the tournament registration reaches its capacity, we’ll initiate a waitlist. • Registering and paying the entry fee implies acceptance of our rules and policies, and a waiver of sponsor liabilities. |
